HOW TO CARE FOR YOUR JEWELRY

PRESERVE THE SHINE

HOW TO WEAR

  • Preserve the beauty and quality of your jewelry by taking it off before showers, baths, heavy workouts, or swimming—especially in the sea or chlorinated pools.
  • Remember, our gemstones are natural wonders. They can absorb dirt and may be prone to chipping. Settings may also loosen over time, so occasional check-ups are a good idea.
  • Let your perfume or creams settle before putting on your jewelry. Direct contact with such liquids can affect the shine and luster.
  • Keep your pieces away from the extremes - be it scorching sunlight, high humidity, or freezing temperatures.
  • Avoid wearing your jewelry when using bleach, cleaning products, and other chemicals.

DAYS OFF

HOW TO STORE

  • For optimal protection, use the original Tafein packaging when storing your jewelry, or other suitably lined jewelry boxes.
  • When you’re not wearing your jewelry, tuck it away in a dry, secure spot, which is shielded from the elements.
  • To prevent pieces from scratching or tangling, store them separately. This ensures each item retains its original form and beauty.
  • Gold vermeil, being more sensitive, benefits from being wrapped in a soft cloth before storage. This will help prevent any unwanted tarnish or reactions from other metals.
  • Periodically check the clasps and settings of your jewelry. Proper storage can reduce the risk of them loosening over time.

CARING

CLEANING GEMSTONES

  • Natural gemstones have a gentle spirit. Always steer clear of hot water, aggressive chemicals, and strong cleaners to maintain their charm.
  • A soft, damp cloth can do wonders. After wearing your gemstone piece, give it a gentle wipe to keep it gleaming.
  • Some stones, like pearls, opal, and emerald, are particularly porous. For these treasures, use an untreated, dry, soft cloth for cleaning.
  • To avoid any unintentional scratches, refrain from using tissue paper or paper towels. Their textures might be too rough for the delicate surfaces of the gemstones.
