Craftsmanship & Legacy
Our design journey with this piece began with the planet’s extraordinary landscape. We sculpted the pendant's face to echo Mars' vast terrains and craters with a satin touch, it notably showcases a raised representation of Olympus Mons, a testament to the grandeur of the universe's largest known volcano. The Valles Marineris canyon cuts into the surface of the piece, branching its deep valleys across, hiding deep reserves in its mystifying abyss. The oval ruby at its core embodies Mars' fiery spirit and the ember of potential for future explorations.
A fiery red ruby, mirroring the planet’s iconic red hue nestles into the canyon depths, marking the potential reserves of water at the bottom of the canyon. The birthstone of July symbolizes passion and strength, attributes of the fierce Roman God Mars after whom the planet is named. The ancient Romans and ancient Babylonians came to associate the planet with their Gods of war, due to its red hue, symbolic of blood.

At Tafein, our pieces are cast with a thick 2.5 micron layer of 18K Gold on 925 Sterling Silver, making it an affordable but durable alternative to solid gold. Featuring a base crafted with a precious metal, the designs are hypoallergenic and nickel-free.
